Turnip "Russian Size".
Size champion: reaches a weight of up to 2 kg!
The turnip is like something out of a fairy tale: its golden-yellow and fleshy roots reach such a size that you can feed a whole family!
The pulp is crispy, juicy, sweet, with a characteristic turnip flavor, rich in nutrients.
The taste is amazing! Boiled, steamed, fried, with kvass or butter, just fresh from the garden - since ancient times it has been loved by everyone. Stored all winter.
Agricultural technology.
Turnips prefer loamy soils. In the fall, the site is carefully dug up. The best predecessors are cucumber, tomato, and legumes.
Seeds are sown 80 days before harvesting, making sure that they do not fall deeper than 1.5-2 cm. During the first growing season, the soil is loosened and weeds are removed.
Turnips should be watered regularly as turnips like moist soil. To protect against pests, the area is pollinated with ash.
After the formation of the fourth true leaf, the seedlings are thinned out, leaving 5-10 cm between plants. Root crops are harvested selectively as they reach maturity.

Yellow turnip "Russian Size".

Turnips for future use.
Ingredients:
• 1 kg of turnips;
• half a glass of caraway seeds;
• salt;
• 2 large cabbage leaves;
• boiled water at room temperature.

Method of preparation:
1. Peel the turnips and cut into circles.
2. Place the turnips in layers on the bottom of a three-liter wide-mouthed jar or barrel, sprinkling each layer with salt and caraway seeds.
3. Pour boiling water over them so that it covers the turnips.
Put cabbage leaves, a wooden circle or saucer on top and place a weight on it.

Advice: place the vessel at the bottom of the refrigerator or in the basement for two weeks.
Adding salted turnips gives the vegetable salad a special piquant taste.
